Sunflower seeds: Bulgaria buys in Ukraine again

SOFIA/DALIAN. Since 1 December, Ukrainian agricultural products such as sunflower seeds can once again be exported to Bulgaria. The two countries have agreed on a licensing procedure.

Slight adjustment of the EU crop

In its October data, the European Commission has once again made slight adjustments to sunflower seed production in individual EU countries. However, these deviations are only in the 1-2% range, meaning that the difference to the previous estimate is just +0.7%. A total of around 9.979 million mt of sunflower seeds are expected to be harvested across the EU in the 2023/2024 season, which would still be an increase of 7% compared to last year.
