SOFIA. Bulgarian traders report that the weather has made a 180° turn after an extremely hot weekend with temperatures of 39-42 °C.

In the night from Sunday to Monday, there was heavy rain and hail in the northern part of the country. In some areas, palm-sized hailstones fell from the sky, resulting in material damages and flooding. In the Bulgarian city of Vratsa, for example, it rained 72 l/m² overnight. The storm passed over the whole country. The damage caused by rain and hail on the fields is still to be evaluated.
