Sunflower seeds: new export duty as master plan

SOFIA/NUR-SULTAN. Kazakhstan will impose a new export duty on sunflower seeds as of February. Although prices are firm in Europe, the market is concerned over the anticipated supply squeeze towards the end of the season.

Bakery kernels and inshells are trading firm despite the market being rather subdued. Issue is that prices are already relatively low.

Global supplies are also expected to run low in the final months of the season, which is why Kazakhstan will implement an export duty on sunflower seeds over 20% and no less than EUR 100/mt as of February as APK Inform reports.
