Sunflower seeds: larger crop in Ukraine

SOFIA/KYIV. Experts predict that Ukrainian sunflower seed production could increase by 6.5% in 2023. Meanwhile, shipments of various agricultural products to Poland are to be suspended until the start of the new season in order to relieve the markets.

The Ukrainian Institute of Agricultural Economics projects that agricultural production in Ukraine will decline by 2.1% in 2023. At the same time, the Ukroliyaprom Oil and Fats Industry Association forecasts that oilseed cultivation could increase by 8%, or about 1.5 million mt, to 19.484 million mt compared to 2022.
