Sunflower seeds: talks on licensing agreements

SOFIA/KYIV. A possible licensing procedure is to regulate the extent to which Ukraine will export agricultural commodities such as sunflower seeds to Bulgaria, among others, in the future. Meanwhile, growers hope to benefit from import restrictions in the long run.

Growers withhold goods

In the Bulgarian sunflower seed market, prices are holding at their current level. The crop was much better than expected and is sufficient to meet demand for the time being. At the same time, there is still a lack of raw material imports from Ukraine, which are normally abundant.

At a meeting of the Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture, Kyrylo Vatev, with the Ukrainian Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food, Mykola Solskyy in Luxembourg, the two parties discussed the possibility of licensing the import of Ukrainian agricultural product
