Competitive prices, the high quality crop and the strong demand from EU member countries have boosted export activities since earlier this season. The majority of exported wheat goes to EU markets, as a leading export destination has usually been Spain. Exports to Spain are expected to increase by the end of the season because dry conditions during the Winter and higher than average temperatures during Spring affected the output potential of the country this year.

The tough competition within the Black sea basin this season is not discounted at all, even the stronger euro is exacerbating the situation, but the turnover rate of shipped volumes of wheat to foreign countries is forecasted to keep its pace during the medium term.
