ZEVEN/BERLIN. As media in Germany report the Deutsche Milchkontor GmbH and Fude + Serrahn Milchprodukte GmbH & Co. KG have recalled durable semi skimmed milk 1.5%. As the DMK ranks among the largest dairies in Germany and Fude + Serrahn is one of the largest suppliers for milk products the recall concerns several discounters such as Aldi and Lidl…

…and supermarkets throughout the whole of Germany. Problem is that germs were discovered in several samples.

Bacteria in large number of popular discounter brands

As the product alert website www.produktwarnung.eu reports routine checks revealed that several samples contain the bacteria Aeromanas hydrophila / caviae which can cause diarrhoea and other health-related problems. Buyers are asked to return milk carton bearing the health mark DE NW 508 EG and several best before dates in Ocotber. They will be refunded without providing a receipt. The retailers have responded swiftly by removing the affected cartons from the shelfs.
