MADRID/SACRAMENTO. The harvest is approaching. Suppliers and traders must bridge the coming months until the arrival of the new crop from California in Europe.

Low willingness to sell
Shortly before the start of the harvest, the growers in Spain have raised the prices for Valencias yet again, while the prices for other varieties remain stable. How the prices will develop prior to the arrival of the new crop has yet to be seen, though it can be expected that offers will be stable to rising.

Many growers in Spain are dissatisfied with the current price level. The Coato agricultural cooperative in Murcia is even considering not selling any newly harvested almonds at the current prices.
