MALATYA. Long-term contracts are particularly attractive for foreign buyers this season, with a massive shortage of larger dried apricots on the free market.

Distributors looking to reduce stocks
With an estimated production of 150,000 mt of dried apricots for the coming harvest, most distributors and producers fail to see the need to stock up massively for next season. Add to this the difficulties in delivering over the summer, and the conclusion is clear: get rid of old stocks.

Dried apricots no. 3 and larger are virtually unavailable on the free market, but there are still price indications available. Medium-sized and small dried apricots are on offer at somewhat diverging prices.
