MALATYA. The current price development on the Turkish apricot market should be only temporary, traders report.

Actually, dried apricots are being offered at a significantly lower price than last week. This is supposed to have been primarily due to the exchange rate. As soon as the Turkish Lira has stabilised once more, the price level should increase again.

Europeans like it bigger
European buyers prefer the large dried apricots, while Russian buyers are mainly interested in the smaller variety, which is why prices for no. 8 apricots alone were not reduced in price since last week.
