CHRUDIM. In the Czech Republic, growers have completed the poppy seed harvest, but according to market players, demand still leaves much to be desired. The market is ruled by uncertainty.

Uncertainties reduce trading activity

Czech poppy seed farmers have now completed the harvest and the raw materials are stored in the warehouses. According to market players, demand is still rather sluggish, and many traders and buyers are still undecided, as the coming winter provides many uncertainties. Usually, a large part of the poppy seed exports from the Czech Republic takes place in the first months of the season. However, growers are holding back with offers and are not being tempted to lower prices despite the lower buying interest
