Blue poppy seeds: no further reductions in sowing

CHRUDIM. Adverse weather conditions may have damaged the Zeno poppy seeds sown in autumn. Silver lining is that no further reductions are anticipated for the 2024/2025 sowing campaign.

Farmers can easily wait until spring

Good sales and subsidies are enabling farmers to wait before selling their large supplies and to drive up prices. As funds are only required for the sowing campaign in spring many will be able to wait until March/April. Traders and processors will also need to accept that stocks are running low and that demand is better than in the last six months.
