CHRUDIM. Lack of demand is causing the prices of Czech blue poppy seeds to fall. Factors that actually drive up prices remain without effect and some traders are turning to alternatives.

Money must be earned

The Czech blue poppy seed market remains unusually quiet. Due to the low trading activity, prices are slowly sinking. Increased production costs, higher energy costs and the 30% smaller crop cannot change this. According to Czech processors, consumer demand for blue poppy seeds has dropped by 30-40%.
