Blue poppy seeds: stable market allows trade to flourish

CHRUDIM. Firm prices and a stable market have a positive effect on the blue poppy seed trade. Only the growers, who are afraid of making losses because of the increased cultivation costs, are losing out.

Prices below last year's level

The situation on the blue poppy seed market is currently very satisfactory. Czech market players speak of the "most stable situation in the last five years", in which prices do not fluctuate and trade flourishes accordingly. Traders are only concerned about the Russian market that is partly affected by lockdowns, which delays shipments to the country. So far it is unclear to what extent the Czech trade will be affected.
