CHRUDIM/ANKARA. The ups and downs in the Czech blue poppy seed market continue this week. Market players are currently reporting further delays in the harvesting process.

Wet fields delay harvest

According to market players, some fields are still very wet due to rainfall and need to dry out before farmers can continue working. There is still no precise information on the actual yield. According to some traders, the fields look good overall, but the poppy capsules harvested so far have only been half full.
