Increase in the global price of Cashew Kernel.

Cashew kernel prices in the global market are gaining new heights as the tight global supplies are taking toll.  The broken grade Cashew, whose prices were stable for several months, has also increased sharply.

The main reasons for the price spurt was good demand for May to July shipments and holding of some produce by the buyers for later positions hoping for a decline in price.

The Kernel buyers were covering the produce for few weeks for two to three months hoping that the prices would soften, but that to did not go well as, it resulted in increase in demand.

Prices for the Raw Cashew Nut were also increasing due to the crop failures in the major growing areas. The crops in Cambodia and Vietnam are reported to be poor and the production is also expected to fall by about 35 to 40 percent.
