Wheat: Algeria buys around 500,000 mt

Wheat prices set unexpectedly upwards for the trade. It was announced from France that Algeria bought 500,000 mt of common wheat yesterday, probably in France, Germany and Poland. This was above expectations. The USDA quarterly report showed some surprises. The USDA estimates the total wheat acreage in 2021 at 46.4 million acres, which would be 5% more than last year.
