NEW DELHI/OTTAWA. Contrary to the hopes of Indian suppliers, chickpea prices have declined again. However, some factors point to increases in the near future. In Canada, the market remains calm.

Sowing down by almost a third

Last week, Indian suppliers expressed hope that the low price for chickpeas might have been reached, but were disappointed when prices fell again. However, as domestic prices are already showing a slight upward trend, it is not unlikely that export prices will soon follow suit. Various factors should support prices.
