NEW DELHI/OTTAWA. Prices in India continue to fall, even though they should have reached their lowest point long ago. The acreage for the coming season will be correspondingly smaller. In Canada, growers are busy sorting their crop.

Hardly any incentives for farmers

Low demand and cautious trading sentiment have caused prices for Indian chickpeas to fall again compared to last week. Several weeks ago, suppliers were optimistic that the bottom had been reached – now they have been disappointed again.
