7.4% more dates in Saudi Arabia

The outlook for date production in the 2025/2026 season was discussed during the congress of the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council in Palma, Spain, on the second weekend of May. At first glance, the forecast seems optimistic, as the production of dates labelled as dried fruit – which account for around 15% of the global production of fresh dates – is expected to increase by 7.1% to 1.29 million mt compared to last year. Together with the carry-over stocks from last year, this would make a total of 1.537 million mt
