MALATYA. Good weather has prompted the apricot trees in Turkey to start flowering ten days earlier than usual. This may be quite a problem.

Prices drop again

After last week's hike prices have now declined a bit again. As people are trying to resume everyday life in Malatya after the earthquakes struck in February growers have started selling more again, which explains the downturn. As many as 150,000 buildings have either collapsed or need to be torn down in Malatya. No 2 dried apricots are trading at TRY 105/kg.
