MALATYA. Despite stable commodity prices, export prices for Turkish dried apricots have fallen compared to last week. Farmers are preparing their trees for autumn and exports continue to be excellent.

Demand is still low

While commodity prices on the Turkish dried apricot market remain stable compared to last week, exporters have reduced their prices slightly by USD 50-100/mt; this applies to both sulphured and natural dried apricots. Demand remains relatively low, even though exports are still going well. Jumbo varieties are currently priced at TRY 160-165/kg, while no 1 and no 2 varieties are priced at TRY 140-150/kg. Export prices for no 2 dried apricots are around USD 5,100/mt FOB Mersin. Meanwhile, farmers in Malatya have started pruning their apricot trees
