MALATYA. The situation on the Turkish apricot market remains chaotic following the frost disaster. Commodity prices have doubled and traders are not announcing any export prices. This could be the case until the end of July.

The situation on the Turkish dried apricot market remains extremely tense. Rain and cooler temperatures are forecast for this week, market players said, adding that this is no longer an issue after the frost disaster two weeks ago. Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Gezer of Inonu University states that the agricultural frost event that hit Turkey on April 11 and 12 was the most severe of the last century.
