MALATYA. Ice and snow are keeping authorities busy in Malatya. In how far the new dried apricot season will start with carry-over supplies remains to be seen. Exports have taken a hit.

According to forecasts issued by the Turkish meteorological institute snowfalls and cold temperatures will continue in Malatya. As last week, temperatures are expected to range at -8C to -3C (-18-27F) at night and at -3C to 2C (27-36F) during the day. With heavy snowfall continuing in Malatya, the Metropolitan Municipality teams are busy removing ice and snow in the city centre, while road-clearing operations are being carried out in rural neighbourhoods.
