MALATYA. A new marketing system in Malatya is set to provide both suppliers and buyers of dried apricots with greater clarity and more certainty. The weather is changeable, but there is no cause for concern yet.

Prices remain stable

In Malatya, the world’s leading centre for the production of dried apricots, preparations are underway for a new marketing system via licensed warehouses. It is particularly worth noting that Malatya apricots have an EU-protected geographical indication, which underscores their special quality and origin. Under the new system, apricots delivered by producers are first analysed in a laboratory and then offered for sale electronically. The aim is to enable more transparent and value-based marketing through precise classification.
