MALATYA. Trading is largely subdued for dried apricots in Turkey. Issue is that buyers and seller cannot agree on prices.

Growers hold back

As trading is largey subdued for dried apricots in Turkey prices are holding firm. Issue is a standoff between growers, who are holding back to drive up prices, and traders, who rather reckon that prices have reached their peak. Buying interest is weak as long as growers and buyers continue to wait for the other side to give in.

The prices for no 2 dried apricots from this year's crop are standing at USD 6,550/mt FOB Izmir and for no 4 at USD 6,450/mt FOB Izmir. Organic no 3 and no 4 dried apricots are trading at EUR 6,000/mt (USD 6,412/mt)
