MALATYA. The earthquakes in February 2023 and the night frosts this April are posing massive challenges for Turkish apricot producers. They are hoping for further support from the government. Trade is currently at a standstill.

The Turkish Meteorological Institute has forecast another heatwave for Malatya this week, with temperatures of 20-22°C at night and up to 40°C during the day. Market players say that the markets have now come to a complete standstill; Malatya seems deserted, all factories are closed and there is no trade.
