MALATYA. Ramadan demand continues and trade on the Turkish dried apricot market remains lively. Exporters are also satisfied, unlike the farmers who are hoping for price increases.

Good prospects in the growing regions

Growers in Malatya report that the weather conditions continue to be excellent for the development of apricot trees. Daytime temperatures are around 6-9°C, while it cools down to -4°C at night. The month of March will be of particular importance here, but so far no negative effects are expected and market players are optimistic.

Exporters also continue to be very satisfied. Although last week's exports of 1,545 mt were lower than the 1,918 mt in the same week last year, total exports recorded significant growth:
