MALATYA. After the frost shock in April, farmers are doing everything they can to revive their damaged apricot trees – and it looks like they are succeeding. However, exports have fallen by around two thirds.

Market remains calm

The situation on the Turkish apricot market has not changed compared to recent weeks. There is hardly any trading activity, only 20% of companies are operating, and buyers are only requesting small quantities for purchase. Exporters estimate that export figures will remain largely the same until the end of the season. Both commodity and export prices for the low stocks remain stable. Dried apricots, no 2 are trading at TRY 370/kg, no 4 at TRY 320/kg. The export price for no 2 remains unchanged at USD 10.30/kg FOB Mersin.
