Dried apricots: unsulphured goods are in demand

MALATYA. Whilst exporters have stocked up on dried apricots from the new crop for the time being, unsulphured fruits are still in high demand, which is driving prices up noticeably. The export season is off to a promising start.

New crop becomes cheaper

While commodity prices for sulphured dried apricots have fallen slightly compared to last week, the situation is very different for unsulphured produce, especially the larger varieties. Prices for the jumbo varieties are now at TRY 210/kg because these products are in high demand and only available in limited quantities. In the case of sulphured produce, larger quantities of the new crop are now available, which is pushing prices down as expected. Many exporters have now stocked up on their first batch and stopped buying for the time being,
