AYDIN. Drought, heat and rainfall during the drying period – climate change is a huge problem for agriculture. In the Turkish province of Aydin, half of the agricultural land is now to be cultivated using dry farming methods.

Farmers have to adapt

Climate change is becoming a greater threat to agriculture every year. In the past, Turkey only experienced a drought every five to ten years, but now parts of the country are affected by severe drought every year. In additions, frost, hail, excessive rainfall, periods of extreme heat and shifts in the periods of heaviest rainfall pose a huge risk.
