AYDIN. Commodity prices for large dried figs in particular have risen significantly since last week, but smaller varieties are also becoming noticeably more expensive. The first export prices for the new crop are circulating on the market.

Significant price increases

On the Turkish dried fig market, raw material prices have been going crazy since last week, especially for large varieties, according to local traders. They currently stand at an impressive TRY 220-250/kg, while prices for smaller varieties have also climbed noticeably – from TRY 130/kg last week to TRY 170-190/kg now. The reason for this is that the overall supply has not turned out to be as large as expected, but large figs in particular are only available in small quantities.
