AYDIN. Turkish dried figs are starting the season significantly more expensive than buyers had hoped. Meanwhile, there is a shortage of large fruits and suppliers are preparing for the start of the export season.

Harvest period almost complete

The Turkish dry fig harvest is already 90% complete, with farmers in the mountainous regions the only ones still working for around 10 days. According to market players, the rainfall of the past few days has not affected the quality of the fruit; on the contrary, the rainfall is a welcome change after the drought period and is even benefiting the crop.
