Dried figs: exports almost at last year's level

AYDIN. Even though the export season started two weeks later than in 2020, export volumes almost reached those of last year. Meanwhile, commodity prices continue to rise.

Export prices fall due to weak lira

The Turkish lira has again depreciated in value by about 8% compared to last week. On Monday (6.12.), 1 USD was equivalent to 13.79 TRY, while 1 EUR was at 15.58 TRY. Turkish market players report that prices for high-quality goods on the domestic market are at TRY 50-55/kg, but fear that the rise in the exchange rate could lead to further increases up to TRY 60/kg.
