AYDIN. Turkey's dried fig producers have traded much less than last year. Yet, supplies are nearly sold out and volumes in export quality are lacking.

Raw figs too expensive

The supplies of dried figs in export quality are running low in Turkey as growers have nearly sold all their volumes and are demanding prices as high as TRY 180-200/kg for the remaining figs, which exporters dismiss as way too high. In Aydin, quotations range as far apart as TRY 84-240/kg depending on type and quality. Only 38,000 mt have, in fact, been registered here so far, whereas volumes ranged as high as 50,000 mt last year. Exporters only provide offers for international customers on demand with no 2 Lerida dried figs trading at USD 8,9
