AYDIN. Market players report good weather conditions for the development of the Turkish fig crop. Due to the holidays, the market is expected to be quiet this week.

Growers want to increase chances

Due to the cool and rainy weather conditions in spring, fig farmers started the pollination phase about two weeks later than usual this year. According to current information, however, this is going very well, and some farmers have even started a second round with a week's delay in order to increase the chances of yield. According to market players, the weather is currently also favourable for this project.

Apart from that, the Turkish dried fig market remains quiet and many farms are closed this week for the Feast of Sacrifi
