AYDIN. Exporters have stopped purchasing dried figs. Shipments are still lagging behind last year.

Exporters stop buying

In Aydin temperatures will range at 4-10C (39-50F) at night and at 14-19C (57-66F) during the day this week. Forecasts also predict rainfalls, which are very welcome.

As is the case in other dried fruit markets, trading will also be much subdued for dried figs until mid-January at least. Exporters stopped purchasing after New Year. Buying is also already complete for Ramdan within Turkey and in other Muslim countries.

Prices are, consequently, firm. Mid to small-sized figs are trading at TRY 270-300/kg and bigger sizes at TRY 30
