Dried figs: supplies are running low

AYDIN. In Turkey, exporters are still busy processing their orders. Even though exports are slightly behind last year's result, supply is likely to become tight after the turn of the year.

Good quality is rare

As usual, the Turkish dried fig traders are busy getting their shipments for this calendar year on the way in time. Apart from that, the market is quiet. But this does not mean that there is no demand. Export volumes are at a similar level to this time last year and soon export quality dried figs will be sold off.

Since the beginning of this season, 23,124 mt of dried figs and dried fig products have been exported from Turkey, about 1,000 mt less than this time last year. Weekly exports, however, were 1,933 mt last week, about 200 m
