AYDIN. The prices for Turkish dried figs have temporarily stabilised, but the question is not whether, rather when they will rise again.

Traditionally, the new season for the fig market starts at the beginning of October, and that is still five months away. Although most of the deliveries have already been made and most buyers are covered with long-term contracts, those who need prompt dried fig deliveries at this time must be ready to pay high prices.

Deliveries were rejected
Since the beginning of the season, Turkish dried fruit exporters have delivered more than 50,500 mt of dried figs to foreign countries. However, there are still problems with the quality, and just recently at the end of April, two deliveries of dried figs were rejected again due to high aflatoxin values.
