OTTAWA/NUR-SULTAN. At the beginning of the Ukraine war, there were mass calls for various food commodities on the European market, including flaxseed. In the meantime, the situation has calmed down again.

Small quantities for prompt shipment are preferred

The flaxseed suppliers are now mainly busy with processing and due to the rush there were some significant delays here. Although many buyers are now covered until the new season starts, traders are still repeatedly reporting customer enquiries that want to cover themselves until April 2023. However, traders hardly want to get involved in contracts that far into the future.
