Flaxseed: exports stagnate at the border

NUR-SULTAN/OTTAWA. In Russia and Kazakhstan, the flaxseed harvest is coming to an end and most of the new crop should already be available in the market. Despite the disappointing developments in Kazakhstan and Canada, experts report that Russia's farmers are said to have achieved a record crop this year.

Kazakhstan's government must increase pressure

Demand from China for Kazakh agricultural products, including flaxseed, has dropped significantly due to the backlog on the Kazakh-Chinese border. Experts estimate that about 5,000 railway wagons full of goods are exposed to the weather conditions there right now. The reason is fairly simple: high shipping rates are the reason that more deliveries were made via the rail network.
