Flaxseed: Kazakhstan increases shipments to the EU

NUR-SULTAN/OTTAWA. Kazakhstan was able to noticeably increase its flaxseed exports to EU countries in the 2021/2022 season. Experts also expect an increase in export volume for the new business year.

Flaxseed exports up by 39%

Kazakhstan exported a total of 1.28 million mt of oilseeds in the 2021/2022 season. With 358,300 mt, more than a quarter of these went to EU countries, about 39% more than last season. Flaxseed accounted for 308,138 mt (86%) of shipments to the EU, followed by rapeseed (8%) and soybeans (4%). Overall, almost 60% of Kazakhstan's total flaxseed exports went to the EU.
