NUR-SULTAN. As the flaxseed harvest in Kazakhstan progresses, it is becoming increasingly clear what this year's production can bring. However, experts at the Kazakh Grain Union (KGU) believe the official cultivation figures are too optimistic.

2020/2021 export data to be corrected

According to current estimates, Kazakhstan's flaxseed exports in the 2020/2021 season were higher than initially expected. Previously, the export volume for the period September 2020 to August 2021 had been estimated at just under 400,000 mt, but now the official statistics speak of 400,200 mt and the Kazakh Grain Union (KGU) even expects a total of 405,000 mt.

New crop 30% lower than in 2020

As of 1 October, about 250,000-270,000 mt of flaxseed is expected to be available in the Kazakh
