KYIV/ASTANA. With prices continuing to surge in Kazakhstan Ukraine is a good alternative. Delivery delays may, howver, occur at the border to Poland.

Cheaper rates in Ukraine

Prices are still on the rise in Kazakhstan and raw brown flaxseed, 98%, is trading at EUR 500/mt EXW. Optical imperfections, harvest delays and low yields have limited supplies this year and suppliers are serving regular customers first. Ukraine is a more attractive alternative as raw brown flaxseed, 98%, is trading at EUR 550/mt DDP Germany and shipments to Belgium range EUR 10/mt higher. Strikes are, however, causing delays at the border with Poland and transportation by sea is fraught with risks and higher insurance costs.
