BRUSSELS. Wheat production has exceeded expectations in Argentina and Australia. The US funding bill will have quite an impact on corn. Exports are running smoothly for US soybeans. Rapeseed arrivals from Australia have revived activities in France and Belgium.

Wheat estimates lifted

Russia’s discouraging forecasts for wheat have been sidelined by cheap offers from Argentina and expectations of a good crop in Australia. Russian analyst SovEcon has lowered the country’s 2025 production estimate by 3 million mt to 78.7 million mt, which would be the smallest crop since 2021. Contrary to this, production in Argentina and in Australia has exceeded expectations and is now pressuring the market.
