BRUSSELS. Rumours concerning Algeria are afloat for wheat. Russia’s hostile attacks on Ukraine are taking their toll on corn. China’s possible purchases are still driving US soybeans. The EU is the top buyer for Canadian canola.

Rumours over Algeria and wheat

Rumour has it that Algeria has bought wheat and barley in France. Although Algeria has not purchased any soft wheat in France since July 2024 (31,500 mt), a shipment over 5,000 mt has been announced in February. At the same time France will also ship 13,000 mt of barley to Algeria, despite the country not conducting any purchases for the cereal here in the past three seasons.
