BRUSSELS. Wheat has turned more attractive for importers. Crude oil has dragged corn down with it. New import tariffs may impact US soybeans. Global rapeseed meal consumption will hit a record.

Wheat turns more attractive

Rainfall in the US Midwest and Western Europe has improved crop prospects and is putting downward pressure on prices. Whilst wheat stocks in France are in good shape, the effects of the drought in the Corn Belt could prove more damaging; the crop rating has only been raised to 31%, and the hoped-for rainfall for US wheat may well come too late.
