BRUSSELS. Australia may have put the wheat market in Asia under pressure but the situation is different in Russia and the EU. Drought and cicadas are a worry for corn. Bridging the gap between good and bad wheat crops

While competition is turning fierce in the market in Asia due to improved crop projections in Australia, the opposite is the case in Russia and in the EU. Prompted by received rainfall in the most important growing areas ABARES has raised the projection for Australia’s wheat crop by as much as 2.7 million mt to 31.8 million mt.
