New Delhi: According to the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Authority (APEDA), the country's exports of HPS peanuts in July 2017 were up 41%. In the first four months of the current financial year 2017-18, in April-July this export has been 35 per cent less compared to the same month last year.

According to the latest data of APEDA, the total export of groundnut grains was 35,717 tonnes in July 2017, which was 25,369 tonnes in June. This led to an increase of 41 percent in exports. In July 2016, the export was 39,000 tonnes. In this way, this export has decreased compared to the previous year. During April-July 2017, the total exports during the current fiscal stood at 125,000 tonnes, which was 193,000 tonnes during April-July 2016. In this way, exports decreased by 35.29 per cent.

According to APEDA, average export price of peanut grains was $ 1198 per tonne in the current financial year, which was $ 1307 last year. This export received foreign currency of Rs 967 crores, which was Rs 262.19 million last year.

An exporter on the lack of export of groundnut grains says that Indian exports have been shocked because of the low prices of groundnut grains of African countries compared to India. Apart from this, the imports of China have also affected exports. African countries are coming up in huge quantity supply of peanuts kernels. All production is natural and have good nutrition values as well as having less pesticides as well as pass microbiological parameters test. Prices offered from africa countries are about US$150 to US$200 per mt. less than market.
