Export decline to cost industry dearly

Just how worried the industry is about the sharp decline in exports became apparent at the recent general assembly of the Black Sea Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Exporters’ Association in Giresun as local media reports highlight. Issue is that the export volume fell to alarmingly low levels not seen since the 1980s in the first four months of the season as high prices deterred buyers.
